Opening for Widespread Panic, with Mark Messing on sax
Nice set from the band opening for Widespread Panic with whom they would eventually tour in 1994. Mark Messing adds a unique touch with the saxophone on several tunes (as you may recall, he also played on their debut album). Highlights for me included hearing him play on "Into the Wind" and "The Puppet" (he didn't play on those on the debut album) as well as the rockin' "And She Cried" at the end. The set seemed kinda mellow up until then, but then they blow it out on the last song. Overall mix is solid, and the quality is pretty good too with minimal tape hiss (except during the introduction).
